Perhaps one of the most influential individuals in the life of an athlete is the coach. God uses a variety of vocations to allow individuals to speak words of life into young people and the Christian coach is no exception.
A student enrolled in this program would have a strong knowledge of the Word of God and its application to the arena of athletics. This minor would qualify a graduate to coach in many states that do not require a teaching certificate. This minor does not lead to a teaching certificate. An emphasis on the motivational, administrative and technical aspects of coaching from a biblically based philosophy is the core of the program

Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win. All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So i run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. - I Corinthians 9:24-27 NLT
