Objectives
Upon completion of the music concentration, the student should be able to:

• demonstrate knowledge of general music studies such history and theory.
• demonstrate skill in composition, arranging, aural skill, conducting, and performance.
• demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with the goal of excellence on the student’s chosen instrument, assessed by the faculty through applied instruction, jury panels, and recital reviews.
• develop a spiritual sensitivity to minister through music and be able to clearly articulate the biblical role of music in the church.
• demonstrate congregational worship leading skills for the contemporary church with ability in people skills, recruitment, team leadership, rehearsal, and service planning.
• exhibit a satisfactory degree of administrative ability in guiding the worship and music development of the local church.
• demonstrate the technical ability to administrate effective church ministry in lighting, sound, and visual arts.

*This concentration must be taken in conjunction with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Leadership.
