Objectives
Upon completion of the music concentration, the student should be able to:

demonstrate knowledge of general music studies such history and theory.

demonstrate skill in composition, arranging, aural skill, conducting, and performance.

demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with the goal of excellence on the student’s chosen instrument, assessed by the faculty through applied instruction, jury panels, and recital reviews.

develop a spiritual sensitivity to minister through music and be able to clearly articulate the biblical role of music in the church.

demonstrate congregational worship leading skills for the contemporary church with ability in people skills, recruitment, team leadership, rehearsal, and service planning.

exhibit a satisfactory degree of administrative ability in guiding the worship and music development of the local church.

demonstrate the technical ability to administrate effective church ministry in lighting, sound, and visual arts.
