Men Place 2nd in Conference Tournament

The Trinity Bible College men’s basketball team finished 2nd in this year’s NIAC tournament held in St. Cloud, MN. Trinity advanced to the championship game by defeating AFLBS out of Plymouth, MN 76-65. Senior Jimmy McKinzie led the Lions with 21 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. He also led the team with 5 steals in the game. Shean Bosworth scored 17 points and had 3 steals for the game. Mikey Rosario was the only other Lion in double-figures. Colby Simonsen and Michael Rohrbach each scored 8, respectively. For the game, the Lions would hit 10-23 from the three-point line. They also had 15 steals.

The next day, the Lions would take on the #2 seeded St. Cloud Technical College. After being down 29-36 at half, the Lions were able to come back and get within one point late in the second half. But the come-back fell short as the Cyclones would make their free throws to put the game away for a 64-72 final score. This is the 2nd straight year the Lions have finished second to St. Cloud Tech.

For the game, Colby Simonsen and Jimmy McKinzie each scored 17 points; hitting 8 three’s between them. Terrance Sevion scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the game. Mikey Rosario reached double-figures with 10 points as well for the Lions.
