The Trinity Bible College men’s basketball team won their home opener on Tuesday night 86-68 over Turtle Mountain Community College. This makes the Lions 3-0 on the season and 3-0 in the conference.
The Lions jumped out to a 20 point lead at half, but Turtle Mountain was able to keep the game within reach by playing even with the Lions in the second half. “We got a little sloppy in the second half,” Coach Nowell said. “I was disappointed in our lack of execution, but our hustle and intensity was there throughout the game. We need to be able to execute for 40 minutes.”
Josh Morris led all scorers with 31 points on 11 of 17 shooting. He also pulled down 8 rebounds. Mikey Rosario scored 14 points while Terrance Sevion added 11 while getting two steals. Dylan McKneely handed out 8 assists in the game and scored 7 points. Cameron Martell pulled down 11 rebounds for the Lions and added 7 points.
The Lions’ next game will be Friday, November 19th in Ellendale against a very good Dakota State University team. This will be an early test that will show the Lions a lot about themselves.
