Night the Lady Lions Volleyball team took to the road for their first away game
of the year. The Lady Lions are coming off a busy week last week in which they
faced Jamestown JV and lost in a tough match (3 games to 2). They then hosted a
Triangular Tournament with Crossroads College and Oak Hills Christian College.
The Lady Lions won both of their matches against both teams on Friday and
Saturday in three games. After the busy first week of games the Lady Lions came
out with a 4-1 record. It was then time for their first road test of the year.
They traveled to Bottineau, ND to face Dakota College at Bottineau and the Lady
Lions were ready. They took the first game 26-24. The Lady Lumberjacks of
Dakota College then fought back and won the second game 22-25. The Lady Lions
would then take the next two games 25-22 and 26-24 and won the match three
games to one.
Leading
the Lady Lions in kills was Sophomore Tatiana Alualu (Honolulu, HI) with 13,
she also had 13 digs. Freshman Treva Nutter (Thedford, NE) added nine kills of
her own to go with her 19 digs which led the team. Freshman Hannah Kovarik
(Thedford, NE) added seven kills and 14 digs.
The next game for the Lady Lions is the
Springfield Invitational Tournament in Springfield, MO, Friday, September 16th
and Saturday, September 17th. The teams participating, Central
Bible, Baptist Bible, Champion, Crowley’s, Grace Bible, Southwestern Christian,
Trinity Bible, Kentucky Christian.
