Coming off a couple tough weekend losses, the Lady Lions faced Fergus Falls Tuesday night on their home court. Despite a very supportive crowd, lack of execution on the Lady Lions’ part led to them falling to the Spartans in three sets. The Lady Lions have been battling injuries and lack of numbers all season, but are looking to continue improving despite the setbacks.
One aspect of improvement that was evident Tuesday night was that freshman Libby Erickson got more involved in the offense, with a season high in hitting attempts. Even on a down night for the veteran members of the team, the Lady Lion freshmen continue to improve each game. According to sophomore outside hitter, JaNae Stevenson, “The freshmen have continued to make huge improvements from the beginning of the season. As a team, we are continuing to get more used to playing with each other. They will be key aspects moving into tournament play.”
The Lady Lions look to bounce back from this match with more consistent service receive and attacking against Fergus Falls, who they meet again in their next match on Friday, October 9th in Fergus Falls.
