Lions Suffer First Home Loss

The Trinity Loins were coming off a one point win, when they welcomed NAIA Dakota State University. Coming into the game the Lions were 4-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play. Dakota State came in 3-3 overall. The Dakota State University Trojans started the contest with a 14 -2 run in the first seven minutes of the game. The Lions fought hard playing DSU 16 to 12 in the last 13 minutes of the first half. Dakota State found themselves holding a 36 to 18 advantage over the Lions at half time.

                The Lions used some good free throw shooting in the second half (11 out of 14) to play the Trojans to 30 to 36. Dakota State came out on top 72 to 48. The Lions were handcuffed by a cold shooting night going 16 of 55 from the field and five of 19 from three. Lions forced 16 Trojan turnovers and only had 14 of their own. The Lions were led by only one scorer in double digits, junior guard Mikey Rosario (Forth Worth, TX) who had 15 points and seven rebounds.
