Trinity Lady Lions Basketball hosted NIAC conference foe Turtle
Mountain Community College Friday night in Ray Ulmer Fieldhouse. The teams
faced each other just over ten days prior in which the Lady Lions defeated
Turtle Mountain in a low scoring affair 57 to 48. This game proved to have a
lot more offense, as the Lady Lions beat TMCC for a second time this season 80
to 68 to help move the Lady Lions to 4 – 0 in NIAC conference play.
The
Lady Lions were hand cuffed in the first half because of foul trouble, but with
the help of sophomore guard Kylie Flemmer’s (Beulah, ND) 15 point first half, they
would hold a four point half time lead 41 to 37. Turtle Mountain would keep it
close in the second half but never could close the gap. The Lady Lions were
helped by junior guard Treva Nutter’s 15 point second half.
The
Lady Lions were led by Treva Nutter who led all scorers with 25 points (12 of
17 from the field), nine assists, four rebounds and three steals. She as joined
in double digits by Kylie Flemmer who finished with 20 points (7 of 14 from the
field), seven steals, six rebounds and five assists. Kayla Droste (Ingalls, KS)
came off the bench to score 17 points and had four rebounds and three assists.
