The Lady Lions were looking to
rebound last weekend after a hard loss at Lake Region State College last Tuesday.
They welcomed the Crossroads College Knights to Ellendale and the Ray Ulmer
Fieldhouse for the Lady Lions last two regular season games. On Friday night the Lady Lions honored their
two seniors with senior night. After the game seniors Jessie Wagler and JaNae
Molan were honored with a flower and framed jersey as a thank you for the four
years of hard work and dedication as a student athlete here at Trinity Bible
College. The Lady Lions won easily on Friday evening beating Crossroads College
70 to 6. They were led by freshman Sara Wold who recorded her first career
double double with 16 points (7 for 10 from the field) and 10 rebounds. Joining
here in double figures were the two seniors Jessie Wagler who added 14 points,
8 rebounds and 6 steals and JaNae Molan who also recorded her first career
double double with 10 points (5 for 11 from the field), 11 rebounds (7
offensive) and 6 assists. The Lady Lions then defeat Crossroads College on Saturday
afternoon 70 to 21 to complete the weekend sweep. They were led again by
freshman Sara Wold, who had 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting, 9 rebounds and 5
steals. There were three other Lady Lions in double digits, freshman Mariah
Elliott 16 points (8 for 11 from the field), 5 rebounds and 2 steals, senior Jessie
Wagler added 12 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds, sophomore Andrea Wileman
pitched in 12 points (4 threes) and senior JaNae Molan added 8 points, 8
rebounds and 10 assists.
The
two wins helped the Lady Lions go undefeated in the NIAC Conference regular
season 8-0. The Lady Lions will be the #1 seed for the NIAC Conference
tournament coming up this weekend February 16th, 17th and
18th. The Lady Lions will play Friday night February 17th
at 6pm against the winner of the #4 seed Turtle Mountain Community College vs.
#5 Crossroad College(They play Thursday night February 16th at 6pm
in the Ray Ulmer Fieldhouse).
