Assemblies of God Credit Union Classic Recap

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- North Central University was the host of the 2012 Assemblies of God Credit Union Classic on January 12-14. The event featured four men's and four women's teams combining to play 12 games in the three day competition. North Central is pleased to announce the 2012 AGCU Classic All-Tournament Team as voted on by the coaches of the five participating schools.

In the men's tournament NCU hosted Valley Forge Christian College(Phoenixville, Pa.), Central Bible College (Springfield, Mo.) and Trinity Bible College (Ellendale, N.D.). Valley Forge earned a 3-0 mark in the tournament to earn the AGCU Classic Title. The Patriots defeated Central Bible 76-71 on Thursday night before defeating NCU 78-61 and Trinity Bible 76-61 on Friday and Saturday night.

The Men's AGCU Classic MVP is senior forward Latrell Alford, VFCC (Criswell, Md.). Alford averaged 18 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game in the tournament.

On the women's side the Rams hosted Valley Forge Christian College (Phoenixville, Pa.), Trinity Bible College (Ellendale, N.D.), and Northland International University (Dunbar, Wis.). NCU, Trinity, and Valley Forge split the women's title with all three schools defeating NIU, Trinity defeating Valley Forge, NCU defeating Trinity, and Valley Forge knocking off the Rams.

The Women's AGCU Classic MVP is junior guard Treva Nutter, TBC (Thedford. N.E.). Nutter averaged 21.3 points, 4.3 assists, and 4.3 steals in the tournament.
