Week: Trinity Bible College Lady Lions (0-0) will
open their 2012 volleyball season at home against Dakota Wesleyan University (1-3
overall). The Lady Lions will be coached by new first year head coach LuAnn
Geller and assisting her is first year assistant Jessie Wagler. The Lady Lions
have three returners from last year’s squad, junior Kylie Flemmer, sophomore
Kelby Wiederhold and sophomore CJ Harlan. They will be adding two transfers,
junior Mariah Elliott and sophomore Carmeille Foster. A small freshman class
rounds out the team with SaraLi Peterson, Jessica Lentz and Jordan Rohrbach.
Last
Meeting: The Lions have not faced Dakota Wesleyan
University before; it will be their first and only meeting this season.
Last
Time Out: Trinity Bible College finished their
2011 season in heartbreaking fashion, losing to Providence College in a 5th
set 15-13 in the North Central Region championship game. The Lady Lions had a
strong season finishing 18-14.
National
Rankings: The Lady Lions are ranked #10 in
the nation heading into the 2012 volleyball season.
Lions
Leaders: Following last season, sophomore
Tatiana Alualu, freshman Treva Nutter and freshman Hannah Kovarik were all
named to the North Central Region All-Region Team and senior Jessie Wagler was
named to the North Central Region Honorable Mention Team.

will be facing all three North Central Regional opponents, North Central Rams,
Faith Baptist Bible College and the defending North Central Region champions
Providence College Freemen. The next home volleyball game for the Lady Lions is
Saturday, September 15th at 11:00am.
