Lady Lions Win Homecoming Match

The Trinity Bible College Lady Lions volleyball team had a busy start to the year with 9 of their first 10 matches on the road, so they were happy to welcome Dakota College at Bottineau to Ray Ulmer Fieldhouse for homecoming.

The Lady Lions jumped out fast on Dakota College taking an early 7 to 1 lead in the first game. However Dakota College would not stop battling as they would fight back to, not only tie but, gain the lead. Dakota College then took control of game one and went on to win the first game 25 to 21 over the Lady Lions. The second game mirrored the first game as the Lady Lions would come out strong and Dakota College would fight back but this time there was a different ending. The Lady Lions would hold on to win game two 25 to 21 to tie the match at one game apiece. The Lady Lions would use the momentum from game two and would jump out again to a quick lead in game three. This time the Lady Lions would not let up as they would never let go of the control of the game. The Lady Lions would win decisively 25 to 12 over Dakota College and they now had 2 games to 1 lead. The fourth game would be the final one of the match but it proved to be the most exciting one as well. Dakota College would take an early 14 to 7 lead and it looked like that would be enough but the Lady Lions would not just hand them the game. They would fight back to get within a few points to find themselves down 19 to 21. The two teams would then trade points until the Lady Lions took control 27 to 26 and they would serve for the win .The Lady Lions took game four 28 to 26 and took the match 3 games to 1 over Dakota College. The win moves the Lions to 4-6 on the season.

In the win the Lady Lions were led by Carmeille Foster (Aberdeen, SD) with 34 kills to go with her 3 blocks and 2 aces. Junior Mariah Elliott (Thedford, NE) added 20 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks and 2 assists, while junior Kylie Flemmer (Beulah, ND) had 34 assists to lead the Lady Lions to go with her 2 aces and 1 block.
