Ellendale, ND - The first thing you notice as you step into the cafeteria at Trinity this semester is the new décor and aroma coming from the kitchen. A’viands, a food services company from Roseville, Minnesota, has moved on campus. They specialize in educational dining services as well as healthcare dinning. JoAnn Taylor from Edgeley, North Dakota, is the new food services manager. All of the former staff are still employed. The Federal Work Study program provides quality help from a number of students.

Christmas took on a special meaning for TBC Alumni, Chaplain Jeff Jay, and his wife Lisa. They have reason to celebrate life this Christmas. On December 29, 2004, a tragic airplane crash in Iraq nearly took his life. The plane attempted to land on a severely damaged runway, skidding across a deep hole in the pavement and shearing off the underbelly of the plane. He woke up two weeks later in a military hospital in Germany with massive injuries. Their lives were changed forever. He was not expected to live. It took fourteen months for healing and recovery.

Every Wednesday is Missions Day at Trinity. The chapel services present special emphasis for missions and often offer an opportunity for students to hear from God. Many of our students have answered the call to the mission field as a result. Early in the fall semester, Executive Assistant to the President, Sam Johnson, presented a challenging message to help build a dormitory at our Cambodia Bible school. “In just a few short months TBC students have given $12,005.60 to assist in the project”, reports Missionary in Residence, Roland Dudley.

Sarah Kern, a senior at Trinity, was heading home to Wadena, Minnesota for the weekend to visit her family when she encountered a severe storm that produced a tornado. She recalls watching the tornado touch down a half-mile in front of her. With God’s strength and protection, Kern was able to find an open house with a basement after stopping at three other houses only to find them locked.
